Visit to the Palace of Westminster

A group of Year 9 students travelled to London for a tour of the Palace of Westminster. The group discovered what happens in the House of Commons and were allowed to stand in the chamber and be the Opposition Party. They checked out the original Westminster Hall, built in 1066 and the only surviving part of the original palace. Later, a tour of Westminster Abbey, following King Charles III’s footsteps to be crowned. Students saw the Coronation Chair and many English monarch’s tombs including Edward the Confessor. Students paid their respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.
