Train to Teach: Inspiring Future Teachers

Who are Inspiring Future Teachers?

Inspiring Future Teachers (IFT) has been created through a partnership of multi-academy trusts, Teaching School Hubs, Curriculum Hubs, Research Schools and existing SCITT providers with many years of experience in leading Initial Teacher Training in their local areas. We offer all the benefits of being part of a large national programme whilst at the same time providing locally delivered school-based training in either a primary or a secondary school.

This allows our trainees to learn in a school environment, as a member of school staff, from day one.  This is supported and enhanced through a comprehensive and evidence-informed, centre-based training programme led by highly skilled teachers and professionals from your local area, who are passionate about education and providing the best possible life chances for the children in our schools.

Vision

Inspiring Future Teachers (IFT) will develop exceptional teachers who have a passion for their profession, the skills and knowledge to help all students thrive and a sustaining network of support that will nourish them long after they have finished their induction.

Teaching and learning is at the core of everything we do, with a culture of support and a drive for excellence.

Aims

Partnership – Collaboration across local, regional and national networks of a range of experienced, inspiring, respected educational practitioners that provides high-quality, evidence-informed training

Excellence – The Inspiring Future Teachers training programme draws upon people who are passionate about education and processes that aid performance to develop confidence and proficiency in trainees across the three-year induction period and beyond

Curriculum – Our carefully sequenced, evidence-based curriculum, supports the development of trainee understanding and allows appropriate time for application of theory into practice

Support – Working with all stakeholders to ensure our trainee teachers are supported through induction, training and their professional development and develop a rich network that retains their passion for the profession for many years

Core Values

Our core values of respect, inclusivity, integrity and aspirations for all underpin every aspect of our programme.

Intent

At Inspiring Future Teachers, our programme is designed to provide all our trainees with a programme that offers both breadth and bespoke learning experiences. Our curriculum is broad and balanced, meeting nationally recognised standards, whilst retaining the flexibility to meet both personal and local needs.

Programme Structure

Inspiring Future Teachers offers school-based training in either a primary or a secondary school, allowing learning to take place in a school environment, as a member of school staff, from day one.  This is supported and enhanced through a comprehensive and evidence-informed, centre-based training programme led by highly skilled teachers and professionals, who are passionate about education and providing the best possible life chances for the children in our schools.

Our training is centred on an evidenced based curriculum, delivering all aspects of the ITT Core Content Framework, supporting trainees to meet the required standards across all Teachers’ Standards by the end of the training year, enabling them to achieve the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).   A gradual approach to teaching is modelled into our school and centre-based training, with the aim of ensuring that trainees become competent, confident and successful teachers, developing a long-term career pathway in education.

Our school placements offer experience of working with young people of all abilities, across the full range of comprehensive education.

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our school community as part of the Student Executive Team. I love being a part of the senior leadership. It’s an honour to have the role, in my opinion there’s nothing to lose, you’re only ever gaining whether you’re speaking in an assembly or discussing future plans for the school. If i had to say one thing i love about it is it would be […]

I remember a time when I doubted myself, but with determination, encouragement and support I gained the confidence to keep going. That experience showed me that leadership is about courage, kindness, and supporting others. Being part of the student leadership team is about representing and supporting our school community, not just holding a position. True […]

Throughout Year 11, the school helped me achieve the top-end grades I needed to secure my scholarship at Eton College, via the Orwell Award. Joining a select few individuals that have won this award at this prestigious college, I am now studying politics, economics and theology for my A-levels, something I would never have imagined […]
